Welcome to my new homepage!

My name's David Raven. I live in Yorkshire and spend most of my time wandering the hills and fields, taking photographs, writing, and gardening. I trained as a horticulturist at college and have spent the last 12 years designing, creating and maintaining gardens around West Yorkshire.

Why a new website? Well, things change. It's one of those unstoppable facts of life. And these web pages were desperate for updating, so I thought a new look, with new photographs, sites and information were well overdue. I've kept some of the older stuff, updated it where needed, and added lots more places. I've also included a bit more about me, and the work I do (stop yawning!)...

It's still my intention to use this site mainly as an ongoing record of trips to weird and wonderful places. To begin with these will largely be in the north of England but as time goes on a wider selection of sites will appear. I'll be visiting megalithic sites, areas of unexplained sightings, inexplicable happenings, hauntings and other places with an air of mystery...

Please bear with me while I update the pages...

NEW!

High-resolution images of many megalithic sites are available. Also, I'm now able to offer Guided Walks to a wide variety of ancient places throughout the UK, for small groups or individuals. Please contact me via email for more information:-

One of the Devil's Arrows standing stones, near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.

Thornborough Central Henge - Imbolc 2007. Following the well-dressing nearby a few folks meet up for a picnic in the central henge. It's hard to show the scale of this place (or any earthworks really), in photographs... This place is immense...

The huge Rudston monolith - the tallest standing stone in Britain...
